“Only those who know how to care for what belongs to others may one day truly call their own what is theirs.” (George Gurdjieff)

Real Sustainability

We act consistently with who we are, what we offer, and the place we inhabit. Our hotel is rooted in a unique heritage, and that singularity calls for a respectful, rigorous, and mindful approach, one capable of preserving the building’s historical value while also contributing meaningfully to the present of València.

Sustainability is a tangible way of working. We optimize resources, reduce consumption, purchase efficiently, care for water and energy, and make responsible decisions in every area of the hotel. It is a daily practice we measure, and one that forms part of a broader commitment to continuous improvement.

It is also a matter of people and place. A sustainable hotel creates positive impact in its surroundings, strengthens the local economy, and actively contributes to the life of the city. That is our starting point at Caro Hotel.

A Statement of Principles

We will be sustainable, or we will not be. That mindset guides us at every step and in every decision we make in managing the hotel. Discover below the principles that shape our sustainability criteria.

Caro Hotel is living heritage in the heart of València. Our sustainability approach is rooted in deep respect for a singular building of immense historical value, which has been fully restored to preserve its soul and share it with every guest.

At Caro Hotel, sustainability is reflected in concrete, measurable actions. We work to optimize energy use, reduce consumption, care for water, and move toward a more efficient and responsible management of our resources.

Behind every experience stands a committed team. And commitment is not possible without a shared path. That is why we always champion stable, high-quality employment, fully in-house management of all hotel functions, continuous training, equal opportunities, and a diverse, respectful work environment focused on professional growth.

We choose proximity to create real value. We always prioritize local suppliers who strengthen a sense of belonging and responsible products to support the local economy, reduce transport-related impacts, and move forward with consistency across our value chain.

Caro Hotel is an active part of València. Our vision of sustainability is rooted in the city, which is why we take an active role in the main institutions that shape tourism in València and contribute to the cultural and social life of our surroundings. We believe in hospitality that builds positive, lasting relationships with the local community.

Our palace has stood for more than 2,000 years, and we have a responsibility to carry its legacy forward. Sustainability is the path that makes this possible. Our commitment is strong, heartfelt, and consistent, grounded in real decisions that pursue excellence with respect. We want to help build a better city through what we do, both for those who visit us and for those who live here.
